Blue passion flowers

Flowers beautify our place. A world without it is so dull and boring, right? It represents love, peace and harmony depending on its color. There are those common flowers like roses and there are those that grow rarely and in some places only. Take for example the one that they call blue passion flowers, but these varieties of flower possess different colors also like purple. You will not be familiar with it when you don’t live in South America because this is where there habitat is found. Blue passion flowers’ petals are colored blue, well the name speaks for itself already. The color is not unique since other types like of roses have also this kind of appearance. This kind of floral is not that common to be displayed as ornamental decorations in your houses or even occasions but still they possess an exotic beauty that is attractive to look. It may not grow naturally on other countries around the world but it can be cultivated and is now widely spread throughout the globe. It is not difficult to grow even in your backyard as long you water it every now and then and plant it in a moist soil. It is a type of vine plant so you need to build support for it to crawl its growing parts. Also, the climate affects it growth. It is more comfortable growing like a room temperature but of course should be exposed to the sun always. When it is exposed to cold areas, it definitely would die but will grow back after a year or so.

The blue passion flower is more popularly known for its bearing of fruits which is called the passion fruit. This is a small orange-colored fruit and it is like tomatoes in appearance. It is an edible fruit. It can be eaten fresh or can be made as a juice drink like those other fruits. Its inside has pulp same with the oranges that is why it can produce juice. It is not that sweet in taste according to some who have tried it but still it is delicious. I haven’t found it in our local market but maybe you have their in your place. Also, the leaves of the plant can be made as tea but I think boiling the leave. That is one really useful plant for me.

Unlike other flowers that the only use is for plain decorations, this blue passion flower is different since its fruits and leaves can also be made as juices and are edible. You might want to try growing some in your place. It loves warm climates so you won’t worry for it not to grow well unless you are located near the North or South Pole. It is one good plant to cultivate and propagate so go and make yourself a business.
