Significance of Blue Roses

Have you received a blue rose even for once in your life? If you have, you surely were overly excited and impressed when you received the flower. For sure, you have asked yourself, ‘Is it really possible to find blue roses in nature?’ Now, be prepared for the answer to this almost universal question.
In reality, blue roses do not exist naturally. However, they could be produced by dipping the petals of freshly cut or prematurely harvested white rose into a blue-colored dye. It would take many minutes or hours to observe the petals to start changing their colors. From white they would turn into blue as time goes on. The resulting blue petals would remain blue for sometime. What is significant is that blue-colored roses have outstanding significance or symbolism. They could take various meanings.
First, blue roses could signify a person’s unequaled efforts and determination. As mentioned, blue-colored roses do not occur naturally. Imagine how anyone would feel after receiving a blue rose. It could instantly create amazement and awe. The quest for any blue rose has always been considered as an absolute one just like finding the Holy Grail. Needless to say, blue-colored roses are to be considered as the Holy Grail in the world of flowers.
There is an aura of mystery in blue roses. The existence of such flowers is already a mystery. They are not supposed to exist. The appearance certainly defies the usual course of nature. Thus, they are ambiguous and mysterious at the same time. There is a mysteriously vague quality that is accentuated by the reality that blue-colored roses are not exactly for real. People could see the existence of such flowers as purely fabricated, making them exude a sense of surrealism. These roses could symbolize appreciation of the enigmatic.
Through the years, blue roses have been acting as symbols of the unattainable and the impossible. They do not occur in nature but when someone sees them in reality, there is instant realization that indeed dreams and fantasies could come true. In this regard, blue-colored roses could symbolize things that are impossibly achieved. They could signify things that could be realized despite being a dream or a fantasy. In love, such roses could represent hope for unrequited affection. You could instantly sense the existence of a miracle whenever you see a blue rose or a bouquet containing one or several of them.

Lastly, blue roses could symbolize new possibilities and opportunities. Blue-colored roses are signifying new beginnings. There is excitement for any untold beginning of new ventures frequently expressed and represented by blue-colored petals of roses. At the same time, blue roses could also signify and herald caution and the need to carefully tread into new territories. Blue-colored roses could signify venturing into the unknown.
